giant pot of mac and cheese, which i froze in toddler-sized portions.
big batch of pickled beets.
jim found some lobsters on discount, is making lobster rolls with fiddleheads.

we got something like 20 pounds of beets. I said to zach last week, “we need a lot of beets, we are out of pickles” so he reached behind him and pulled out a big, heavy plastic bag. “this good?” Saves him packing them into little bushel baskets.
I wished i liked fidleheads. pretty litlte things.

you know what else is gorgeous? a pile of peeled beets. I want to make a necklace based on heirloom beets now, slightly oblong, not perfectly circular beads with swirled sections. red, white, orange, creamy white. polymer clay.
